Dear
All!
Assalamualaikum
wa rahmatullahe wa barakatuhu wa magferatuhu.
Thank you very much for your
interest in my personal website. This is Md. Ershadul Karim, a Lawyer by
profession though I like to address myself as Legal Researcher.
I am very fortunate to have Allah
Subhanallauta’la’s favour in achieving a very strong academic background.
I secured Fifth position
(First among all Bangladeshi Boys) in the S.S.C. Examination from Social
Science Group in 1994 from Dhaka Board with 84.7% marks. I also secured Nineteenth
position in the H.S.C. Examination from Arts Group in 1996 in Dhaka Board
having Economics, Statistics, Logic, Geography with 80.8% of marks. I
obtained Second Class Third position (in order of merit 4th)
in the LL.B. (Hons.) Final Examination 1999-2000 under University of Dhaka with
57% of marks and First Class Third position in the LL.M. Final
Examination 1999-2000 under University of Dhaka with 64% of marks.
Basically teaching and
research are my passions. I always dream to be a famous legal researcher of
Bangladesh. Therefore, after completion of my LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. from
University of Dhaka in the year 2000 and 2001 respectively I joined Eastern
University as a Teaching Assistant and was promoted to Lecturer and finally
Senior Lecturer in 2006. One of the most important recognitions of my service
in Eastern University is the award of Best Faculty Member in 2005, when the
University introduced the Award for the first time. To explore the same venture,
I worked as Resource Person of Bangladesh Medical Research
Council (BMRC) for three years where I taught health professionals Law
and Bio-Ethics.
Now
I am working as Senior Research Officer in Chancery Research and Consultants
Trust (CRC- Trust) which has established the Technical Support Secretariat
of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Person Especially
Women and Children. I am also the Editor of the First Bangladeshi Online
Case Law Database, Chancery Law Chronicles (please visit, www.clcbd.org). I also played leading role and was instrumental in the
compilation of all Bangladeshi Laws in the Bangladesh Code(please visit, www.bdlaws.gov.bd )
I
have got a good number of publications including a book on ‘Principles of
Civil Litigation: Bangladesh Perspective’ which is referred in LL. M. level
in all Universities of Bangladesh, few articles published in most recognized
journals in Bangladesh like Dhaka University Journal of Law, Bangladesh
Journal of Law published by Bangladesh Institute of Law and
International Affairs (BILIA) on ‘Doctor’s Negligence’, ‘Citizen’s Right
to Privacy’, ‘Health as a Human Right’, a study report on ‘Violence
against Women’ for Bangladesh Women Lawyer’s Association (BNWLA) for
the year 2003. Me and my wife also submitted a chapter for a Book on ‘Role
of Local NGOs for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights in Bangladesh’ which
is accepted for publication by Bangladesh Development Initiative, USA.
My hobbies include reading,
writing, music, travelling, fishing etc. Everyday I eagerly wait to return home
to see the ever-smiling faces of my family members and to play with my son,
Shawqi to enjoy each and every single moment of life.
Enjoy surfing different pages
of my site and contact me with valuable suggestions to improve it.
